It’s Time to Hit the Boardwalk!

Comments Off

It’s time to hit the Boardwalk in an ultra smooth ride like a limo Santa Cruz ride. Gather your friends and family and spend a day at the beach and one of the best amusement parks around. It gets pretty packed on the weekends and over the summer so it’s best to come early to find parking. Buy your tickets for all the rides that the Boardwalk has to offer– like the Giant Dipper, Logger’s Revenge, Cyclone, Speed Bumps, Typhoon, Shockwave and more. And while you’re there, check out The Casino Arcade and Neptune’s Kingdom for pinball, miniature golf, bowling, pool tables and laser tag. There’s fun for everyone of all ages. Buy an all-day pass for the best deal.

The Boardwalk is also full of delicious food like corn dogs, pretzels, garlic fries, cotton candy, churros and restaurants like Dipper Diner, Barnacle Bill’s, Hot Dawgs, Surf City Grill, Fisherman’s Gallery, Barbary Coast and the list goes on and on! There is no shortage of food or places to eat! Once you get your thrill ride fix, run out and relax at the beach and play in the water. Don’t forget to bring your swim suit and sunblock along on the trip. Lay out your beach towel, set up the umbrella and beach chairs and enjoy the beautiful California sunshine. You may want to bring a frisbee or football to toss around. Set up a volleyball net for some fun competition. Be sure to apply a good layer of sunblock at the early start of the day before you even get out of your car. Don’t let a cooler weather fool you. Once you’ve been out at the Boardwalk and beach for an entire day, you are sure to receive a nice sunburn, and you will notice the aftermath of it the next day if you are not prepared! Don’t forget to reapply and have your kids reapply especially after they’ve been in the water.

Don’t forget to stay hydrated throughout the day and bring plenty of water. Going to the Beach Boardwalk can be an all day event and it’s best to be prepared. If you prefer to avoid the crowd and to do more of a beach thing, then we recommend heading further south to Capitola or Seascape. A trip to Santa Cruz does not have to turn into a nightmare with crowds and parking. It can be a great day of fun for all with a little planning and knowing which areas to go.

A Fun-Filled Week Ahead

Comments Off

My nephew’s 2-year birthday is coming up in a week.  My sister and her family are coming into town from Massachusetts tomorrow and it will be a week full of activities and a birthday celebration.  She gave birth to my other nephew who is currently 4 months and I am just beyond excited to meet the little guy.

I spent this week multitasking– booked a delicious white cake loaded with fresh strawberries, looked for a birthday present for Liam, searching for cake decorations with animals or cars and trucks, which is what he’s into at the moment.  My sister, who is ultra crafty and has her own tassel business is making a cute cake topper with his name on it.  I’ll have to share it one of these days.

I’m going to run to the toy shop to pick up a box of Magna Tiles.  They are the perfect birthday gift for toddlers.  They are colorful translucent tile magnets in different shapes and allow the child to use their imagination and creativity to put these shapes together to build whatever they want.  I bought a 100-piece set for my first nephew, Kyle, when he turned 2 and he’s almost 3 and still takes them out to play.  I recommend the 100-piece over the smaller sizes because they can build build bigger and taller.

They’re in town for about 10 days and we will probably take the kids to the local zoo, head down to Napa Valley for wine-tasting, as my brother-in-laws loves going to Napa whenever he’s out here.  This time around I am thinking about renting a stretch limo with limo Sacramento, since I’ve used their services in the past and had a great experience.  I’ve also used a service with San Jose party bus and had a really great time.

We’ve also got Tomales Bay Oyster Farm planned on the schedule.  We did the whole picnic and oyster schuckling last year and had a great time.  The oysters are on the salty side, but I recommend bringing picnic foods and grillable items as they have picnic tables and bbq grills.

Depending on our mood, we may also squeeze in a trip to Monterey and visit the aquarium and hang out at the beach in Santa Cruz and Capitola.

I am really looking forward to this visit because the little cousins who are toddlers and babies will have a mini-reunion and get to spend time together.  I’ve also got a 3-month old niece who is absolutely adorable. Love her to pieces.  I’ve got a niece and 3 nephews and love them so very much.  I feel like the luckiest aunt in the world to have them.
